1) Trailer Lock
Link to product: Proven Industries Model 2178 Trailer Lock.
There are a couple quirky things about having a home that is on wheels, but there is one that can be particularly concerning. It is pretty easy for someone else to cart it away! Therefore, having an awesome heavy duty trailer lock that you can put on your camper when you leave your campsite is incredibly important.
The Proven Industries trailer lock offers the best security on the market from its disc detainer core, which is challenging to pick, to its clever design, which is virtually impossible to simply pry or break off. Its lock design also uniquely incorporates and protects the safety chains by coiling and tucking them inside the body of the lock. This prevents a ne’er-do-well from simply attaching the safety chains to their bumper and driving away.
While this lock is definitely on the pricier side, the security – and peace of mind – you get will totally be worth it!

2) Portable Power Unit
Link to product: Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 300.
One of my favorite accessories for a pop up camper is my Jackery portable generator. Even in places where I am off the grid, my Jackery allows me to write or edit as I please. Connecting with nature and working on my freelance business at the same time is the perfect combination!
Jackery, which makes various models depending on how many charges you need, is one of the best brands out there. It even has some units large enough to get you through a natural disaster. (Though I doubt you will need one that size for your pop up camper.) Simply charge it before your trip, and then you are good to go. They even have a car charging ability. You can thus charge as you drive between campsites, and you will be good to go by the time you arrive at your new destination!
The next time you think about what accessories you need for your camping trip or if a special someone is having a birthday, snag a portable generator and never lose a beat on the road.

3) Trailer Aid
Link to product: Trailer Aid 21002 Plus.
A trailer aid is an RV essential that every pop up camper owner should have. If you ever have tire troubles (which are almost always bound to happen if you travel many miles), you will be very glad to have this nifty tool on hand!
If you have a flat tire or a blowout, a trailer aid helps make changing your tire much more effortless. To use it, drive onto the trailer aid with your remaining good tire. This then takes the pressure off the bad tire, allowing you to remove and replace it much quicker.
Although it takes up a small amount of space, you will be glad you have it should you ever need it. It is much easier to use compared to a jack, so be sure to include it on your checklist of accessories for a pop up camper.

4) Tire Pressure Monitor – Vehicle Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
Link to product: TST 507 Tire Pressure Monitoring System with 4 Cap Sensors.
When looking at important accessories for a pop up camper, you should take some time to look into tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). These systems work great to monitor your tire pressures on your tow vehicle and your pop up camper.
Most tow vehicles will tell you when your tire pressures are low. However, they often do not tell you when your tire pressures get too high. When you are driving, your wheel bearings on your trailer or tow vehicle can fail, causing increased heat. This heat can then increase your tire pressures to unsafe levels.
A TPMS will notify you when your tire pressures are too low or too high. A pop up camper is a great candidate for these systems because you do not have as many axles as the large 5th wheels. Additionally, the campers are not overly long, making your TPMS relatively cheap to purchase. Make sure you keep your tires in good shape to prevent unnecessary breakdowns.

5) Wheel Chocks
Link to product: X-Chock Wheel Stabilizer.
Another one of the great accessories for a pop up camper to consider are X-chocks. X-chocks are a version of wheel chocks that apply pressure between the two tires, giving you more security.
The chocks help to keep your trailer from shifting in less-than-ideal parking situations. Additionally, they help to minimize movement when you are inside the trailer. While regular wheel chocks can get the job done, we have found that the X-chocks give more overall stability in our personal experience. If necessary, you can always double up and use both!
X-chocks are also a great gift idea for individuals with RVs if you are looking for something practical that they will actually use.

6) Canvas Repair Tape
Link to product: Canvas Repair Tape – Clear Heavy Duty.
What happens if your canvas rips while you are setting up your camper? You are then left with a big hole in the canvas. Such a hole can let in bugs, rain, wind, cold temperatures, etc. Essentially, it can lead to a long and miserable night of sleep (or no sleep).
Instead, be prepared with a roll of repair tape so that you do not have to worry about such situations. Canvas repair tape is thus one of the most important accessories for a pop up camper. The tape is waterproof as well as weather resistant, meaning it can withstand just about any type of weather you might encounter while camping. You can use the tape not only for a pop up camper canvas but also for boat seats, sails, tarps, etc.
7) Roof Bike Rack – Vehicle Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
Link to product: YAKIMA FrontLoader Rooftop Bike Mount.
Whether you have a pop up camper or a travel trailer, you will want to bring a bicycle (or 4!) on your adventures. RVs and travel trailers typically have room on their back bumpers for a bike rack. However, most pop up campers often use this room for a spare tire.
The solution is to add a rooftop bike rack to your pop up. You will then be able to carry all of your gear at once. While the installation can be a bit tricky – sometimes you even need to put holes in the roof – the final product is well worth the trouble.
Adding on the roof rack opens up so many possibilities for biking trails, e-bike runs to the local stores, and entertainment in the campground for your younger campers. Just remember to unload the bike rack before putting up the pop up roof, or you risk damaging the camper’s equipment.

8) Backup Camera
Link to product: Yakry Backup Camera HD 1080P.
Maybe you have been driving a pop up camper for years and are essentially a pro at backing into campsites. On the other hand, maybe you are about to drive a pop up camper for the first time. Backing into a campsite with a camper attached to your vehicle can be a bit nerve-wracking. Take some of the stress away with a backup camera.
The Yakry backup camera comes with an entire package of items. It includes a seven-inch (18-centimeter) monitor and lighter adapter so that you can easily set up the monitor on your dash. Additionally, it includes a waterproof backup camera to attach to the back of your pop up camper. No need to worry about the camera being out in the elements, for it can handle it. The package also includes a wire and extension wire to connect the monitor to the camera.
Simply set up a backup camera and let all of your worries about backing into a campsite fade away. You will be a pro in no time.
9) Portable Air Conditioner / Heater
Link to product: SereneLife SLPAC10 Portable Air Conditioner with Built-in Dehumidifier.
Tent air conditioners are must-have accessories for a pop up camper, providing a refreshing escape from the sweltering summer heat. These compact and portable devices are simple to use, usually equipped with adjustable vents for directing cool air. Powered by rechargeable batteries, power banks, or direct connections, they offer versatility for any camping scenario.
Adding a tent air conditioner to your gear elevates the camping experience. It helps to ensure restful nights and enjoyable days even in scorching temperatures. Whether you are connected to a power source at a campground or off-grid with a power bank, the cooling relief remains consistent.
In my personal experience, using a tent air conditioner for camping in summer was a game-changer. It made a significant difference in sleep quality, allowing me to wake up refreshed and ready to explore. I now consider it an essential accessory for warm-weather camping, for it guarantees comfort and relaxation. Additionally, for colder seasons, a portable heater complements the tent air conditioner. You can then extend the camping season into fall or spring. Compact and fuel-efficient, these heaters provide cozy warmth, making chilly nights comfortable and enjoyable.
To maximize camping comfort throughout the year, investing in a tent air conditioner and portable heater is a smart choice. These accessories have become invaluable additions to my pop up camper gear. They ensure I am always prepared for any weather condition.

B) Outdoor Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
In my opinion, outdoor accessories for a pop up camper are the most interesting and fun items to research. This is how you can make your pop up camper feel like home. Tie up some string lights around the camper or set up a portable pop up tent. You can even bring along a portable propane fire pit to produce some extra heat and to cook dinner. Hotdogs and s’mores, anyone? Sign me up! I will never say no to a dinner over the fire.
10) Portable Picnic Table
Link to product: Sportneer Camping Table with Adjustable Height.
A portable, lightweight picnic table should definitely make it on the list of accessories for a pop up camper. It is a fantastic thing to take with you because it can fold away easily. It thus does not take up too much space, and then it can be used inside or outdoors when needed. Camper tables are lightweight and easy to carry, can hold a bit of food, and can also be used for playing games or keeping belongings off the ground.
When looking for a portable table, I would recommend going with one that is easy as well as quick to fold up and unpack. You do not necessarily need a large table, especially if there are only four or less of you on the trip. You also do not need one that is too expensive, for you can easily get something sturdy and long-lasting under $100.

11) Tiki Lights – Outdoor Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
Link to product: Brightech Ambience Pro Solar Powered Outdoor String Lights.
Create the perfect camping ambiance with a string of tiki lights on the outside of your pop up camper! These inexpensive accessories can be added to the edge of the roof of a pop up camper. If needed, they can be plugged into the external outlet present on the majority of camper models. We used clear Command hooks to hold our string of tiki lights up, and they worked beautifully. The hooks kept the lights out of the way of the door, and they also had a low profile when we were on the move and would take the lights down.
You can customize the feel of your nighttime camping look by selecting one of the many string light designs available. Lean into the vintage with a set of cute Shasta-inspired lights, or go modern with a string of Edison bulbs.
While camping at the Cherokee NC KOA, we used our firefly mason jar lights, which added a festive, fall feel to our autumn camping trip. The soft glow put off by the lights is perfect to see around the campsite at night, but it is not harsh enough to bother your neighbors.

12) Portable Propane Fire Pit
Link to product: Bond Manufacturing Aurora Camping Portable Steel Propane Fire Pit.
One of the most fun and practical accessories for a pop up camper that campers love no matter where they go are portable propane fire pits. The fire pits are great for many reasons.
First, it is not uncommon to travel to locations during the summer where fire bans do not allow for fires. Propane fire pits are almost always still allowed when there are fire bans. This means you can enjoy a nice fire everywhere you go. Second, you do not have to find wood. Third, when you are done, you turn it off and head to bed. Fourth, propane fire pits are great for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs.
Fifth, they keep you warm on a chilly night. Sixth, they are great as a centerpiece where friends and family can gather and chat. For all of these reasons and more, portable propane fire pits are one of the most versatile and useful accessories for a pop up camper. They can be used all year long, even when there are fire bans in place, and you can use them to cook hotdogs and the camping favorite – s’mores.

13) Pop Up Screen Tent – Outdoor Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
Link to product: CLAM Portable Pop Up Outdoor Camping Screen Tent.
A popup gazebo screen tent is one of the most popular and practical accessories for a pop up camper since it can effectively extend the limited living space of the camper into the outdoors. Similar to pop up campers, these screen tents are designed for quick and easy setup. We typically set ours up in a few minutes (it does take a bit longer if you stake it down properly.)
Once the tent is up, it provides a comfortable as well as versatile RV campsite space to relax, cook, play, work, and more. It is the perfect refuge from the scorching sun, making it ideal for kids and pets. Our cat loves to hang out and keep an eye on the local wildlife in our CLAM pop up tent.
Additionally, it takes care of pesky insects. The screen walls of the gazebo act as a barrier, keeping (most) bugs out while letting in the fresh air. Although screen tents will provide some shelter from the rain, you will need the additional rain panels if you want real weather protection. Moreover, our pop up screen tent is my favorite place to work since it gets me out of the cramped camper and allows me to enjoy the outdoor experience.

14) Mini Cooler
Link to product: EVERFUN Insulated Cooler Bag – Collapsible, Waterproof, and Leak-Proof.
A mini cooler is one of the finest accessories for a pop up camper due to its compact size, versatile functionality, and convenience. This portable cooling device is designed to fit snugly within limited camper spaces. Powered by electricity or batteries, it employs advanced insulation and sealing technology to maintain a desired temperature for food and beverages effectively. Operating it is a breeze: connect it to a power source or activate battery mode, set the temperature, and load your items.
In my personal experience, a mini cooler has been a game-changer during camping trips. Its space-efficient design ensures it does not take up too much space in your tent. Moreover, its efficient cooling capabilities keep perishables fresh and drinks refreshing, enhancing the outdoor adventure. The ability to rely on a portable cooling solution without the need for ice or an elaborate setup significantly elevates the convenience of pop up camping. All of these features combine to make the mini cooler an exceptional and essential accessory for pop up campers who prioritize comfort and practicality without compromising on quality.

15) Spikeball
Link to product: Spikeball Game Set.
Of course I had to include one lawn game in the section of outdoor accessories for a pop up camper. There is no better way to work up an appetite for hot dogs over the fire than with a competitive game of spikeball.
If you have never played spikeball before, then imagine a game that is about half volleyball and half foursquare. I will not detail all of the rules now, but let me just say that it is easy to learn. Once you do learn, you will be hooked.
The spikeball game set includes a rule book, the net setup, one ball, and a bag to store everything. Grab three other friends and challenge them to a friendly game of spikeball. Maybe even bet that the losers cook dinner and s’mores for the winners?
16) Citronella Candles
Link to product: Tealight Citronella Candles – 50 Pack.
The citronella candle proved invaluable on our camping trips. It is made from citronella oil, a natural insect repellent that effectively repels troublesome insects. It brightened up our evenings and helped create a pest-free environment. We could thus enjoy our time outdoors to the fullest without being constantly annoyed and beset by mosquitoes. Additionally, its compact size makes it one of the most ideal accessories for travel in a pop up camper.
Moreover, using a citronella candle is simple: light it strategically on the campsite, for example, on a table or near a sitting area. The soothing flicker of the candle creates a warm atmosphere while the citronella scent repels mosquitoes and other insects. The convenience of lighting and insect repellent in one makes the citronella candle an essential accessory for travelers looking to enhance their camping experience.
Mosquito repellents like citronella candles are especially important in tropical countries such as Indonesia, which is an up-and-coming camping destination, especially in the area around southern Bali.

C) Cooking Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
We already talked about a portable propane fire pit above, but are there other cooking accessories for a pop up camper that you should consider? The answer is yes! For example, maybe you are someone that likes their coffee daily (or twice, maybe three times daily). A Starbucks might not exactly be within driving distance if you stay at campsites overnight. That being said, prepare in advance by buying a portable coffee maker. On the other hand, sometimes you just want something sweet to balance out all of the hot dogs you just cooked over the fire. Then cook brownies in the Omnia Oven. The oven can be used for a variety of foods, but brownies sound like a great idea to me.
17) Omnia Oven
Link to product: Omnia Oven (aka Wonder Pot).
Have you ever wished you could bake fresh muffins for breakfast while you are camping? Or how about brownies for dessert? If messing around with a campfire to cook is not your thing, then you need to check out the Omnia Oven!
The Omnia Oven is a stovetop oven that is perfect for camping. Whether you are in a pop up camper, tent, or even RV, this is a game changer at mealtime. This handy gadget allows you to bake right on your stovetop. It is compact and lightweight, perfect for travel. All you need is a small camp stove, and you are good to go.
The Omnia Oven is made of aluminum and can hold approximately two quarts. It has built-in vents for steam to escape, so your baked goods do not turn out soggy. You can even purchase a variety of accessories, for example a thermometer (we definitely would recommend this) or a silicone muffin ring insert.
From baked potatoes to pizza, cakes, bread, casseroles and more, the sky’s the limit! And while there is a bit of a learning curve in terms of figuring out the temperature to bake things, it did not take long for our cinnamon buns and brownies to turn out perfectly.

18) Aeropress – Cooking Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
Link to product: Aeropress Original Coffee Press or Aeropress Go Travel Coffee Press Kit.
If making coffee is something that you find essential while traveling on the road, then make sure to invest in an Aeropress! This small coffee-making apparatus is durable and compact, which makes it a better option than transporting a glass plunger around in a van. You will also need to own something to be able to boil water, such as a kettle or small pot.
To use the Aeropress, you add ground coffee along with hot water into the main chamber. Then add the lid with some filter paper while waiting for the coffee to brew. Once brewed, you invert the Aeropress straight over your coffee cup and press. To make the Aeropress more sustainable, you can buy a reusable filter for the lid.
They also offer a smaller, more compact version called the Aeropress Go if you are looking to save more space while traveling.

19) Portable Camping Sink
Link to product: UST FlexWare Collapsible Sink 2.0
A portable camping sink is one of the best accessories for a pop up camper and all of the adventures it brings. Without a designated sink, you may find yourself resorting to less-than-ideal hygiene practices. These could potentially diminish the enjoyment and cleanliness of your camping experience.
The UST FlexWare Collapsible Sink is my personal favorite because its collapsible design makes it compact and easy to pack away. On the other hand, its large capacity is great for various tasks, from washing dishes to carrying water to packing supplies in it. When collapsed, it can even be used as a tray! As a seasoned camper and cabin owner in Alaska, I have found this sink invaluable in places without running water and when on the road.
Moreover, the portable camping sink is made from heat-resistant, flexible thermoplastic rubber. This all means that it is super durable. I recommend having two of these sinks if water supply is not an issue – one for washing and one for rinsing. It streamlines your outdoor kitchen setup and makes cleanup a breeze.
Having a collapsible camping sink is a reliable, practical, versatile, user-friendly, and all-around great addition to the list of accessories for a pop up camper.

D) Hygiene Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
When I went camping in the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks, I looked forward to my showers and putting on clean clothes every night. It is exhilarating and exciting to be hiking and wandering about the national parks all day. However, that often led to me feeling sweaty, dirty, and exhausted by nighttime. The following hygiene accessories for a pop up camper can refresh and rejuvenate you so that you are ready for the next day of adventures. Need to wash some clothes? No problem! Throw a load in your portable washing machine. Need to shower? Easy! Set up your portable solar shower and wash all your worries (and dirt) away.
20) Portable Washing Machine
Link to product: BLACK+DECKER Small Portable Washer.
If you plan on extended stays in your pop up camper, a portable washing machine can be a great investment. Although a portable washer takes up a bit of space (they range in size from extra small units up to about the size of a mini fridge), it frees campers from the drudgery of laundromats and makes it easy to wash a few items on demand.
Doing laundry at your campsite gives you the flexibility to multitask and to avoid the (sometimes) long waits at laundromats. The freedom to do small loads of laundry every few days instead of saving up a large laundromat load makes it easier to travel with a smaller wardrobe.
In my own travels and tiny living adventures, I have put three portable washers to the test. Based on my experience, I recommend the Black and Decker Small Portable Washer. I found it to be the most reliable machine overall, and it is compatible with a garden hose hookup. If you make your own travel laundry detergent sheets with an eco-friendly detergent, you can drain the washer outdoors or wherever you collect gray-water.

21) Portable Solar Shower
Link to product: KIPIDA Solar Shower Bag – Five Gallons.
While larger RVs typically have showers inside them, pop up campers generally do not. Moreover, some campsites offer showers on site while others do not. That being said, a portable solar shower is a great alternative (as long as portable showers are allowed at your campsite).
One of the best things about the KIPIDA Solar Shower Bag is that it is convenient and easily transportable. It has a hook to hang it up, a switch to turn it on and off, a hose with a shower head where the water comes out, and a hole where you can fill it up with water. Moreover, the bag holds five gallons (20 liters) of water that can be heated up within just a few hours of being in the sun. For example, the water inside the bag can reach 113 degrees Fahrenheit (~45 Celsius) after three hours in the sun. Just because you are camping does not mean you cannot enjoy a warm shower!
Simply hang the bag on a tree branch and start showering. On the other hand, maybe you want a bit more privacy. In that case, I recommend you add an outdoor shower tent to your list of accessories for a pop up camper. The outdoor shower tent offers complete privacy as you can hang up your solar shower bag on the inside roof and then zip up the tent.
22) Portable Folding Toilet – Hygiene Accessories for a Pop Up Camper
Link to Product: BLIKA Portable and Folding Toilet and BLIKA 40 Count Toilet Replacement Bags.
It is a fact of life – we all have business to take care of, usually multiple times a day. Some people do not mind taking care of their business in the wilderness, but others prefer the comfort of a formal bathroom. How about a solution somewhere in the middle?
The BLIKA Portable and Folding Toilet offers the comfort of a toilet seat, no matter where you are traveling. Simply unfold the chair, clip in a bag, and take care of business.
The toilet seat only weighs a little over four pounds (~1.8 kilograms), thus making it a light addition to the list of accessories for a pop up camper. The chair frame is made of stainless steel, but the toilet seat itself has a cushioned cover to increase comfortability. Furthermore, the toilet replacement bags are compostable. You can clip them in, use them, take them out, and then bury them in the ground. What could be easier and more convenient than that?
23) Travel Towel
Link to product: Rainleaf Microfiber Towel.
Imagine this. You just got out of an amazing, hot shower. However, you now have a towel that is soaking wet and no idea what to do with it. Where can you hang it? Will it be dry by the morning? Probably not.
Nevertheless, I have a solution. The Rainleaf microfiber towel is a super-absorbent and quick-drying towel. Moreover, it has a small loop that snaps together so you can hang it just about anywhere without worrying about it falling on the ground. The towel also comes with a travel case. Simply fold the towel up, pack it away, and then get it back out to reuse it the next day.
I have used this towel many times during my travels, and it has not failed me yet. It only takes a minute or two to dry myself off after I step out of the shower. Then I hang it to dry for the night. When I go back to pack it in the morning, it is all dry and ready to be stored away. Moreover, the towel comes in a variety of sizes. You can thus purchase a towel that fits everyone in your friend group or family.
24) Camping Blanket
Link to product: DOWN UNDER OUTDOORS Large Waterproof Fleece Blanket.
A camping blanket is the last item on the list of the best accessories for a pop up camper. Choosing the right blanket can greatly improve your camping experience.
Here is what to look for when choosing a camping blanket – you should look for an extra-thick, waterproof blanket. The Down Under Outdoor Blanket has it all. It is quite comfortable and lightweight, which makes it easy to carry and store. Additionally, it is durable and water resistant. The Down Under Outdoor Blanket even has a secret pocket where you can store your phone, wallet, and keys. It is 82 by 55 inches (208 by 140 centimeters) in size, which means it is large enough for two people to share. That being said, it is the perfect choice for couples or kids.
