The Reunion Tower GeO Deck in Dallas, Texas offers a panoramic, 360 degree view of the Dallas skyline. On a clear day, you can see over 30 miles (~48 kilometers) in the distance, all the way to Fort Worth. I visited the Reunion Tower while on a road trip from Pennsylvania to California. My friend and I stopped in Dallas just for one day, so we did not have a lot of time to explore. However, visiting the Reunion Tower was our top priority as we knew it held the best view in the entire city.

1) Location of Reunion Tower GeO Deck

The Reunion Tower is located in downtown Dallas, Texas. For reference, it is approximately 20 minutes southwest of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Furthermore, it is within walking distance to a variety of attractions, for example the Dallas World Aquarium, the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza, First National Bank Tower, and more.

Maybe you want to head outside of the city for a day trip. Then I recommend you check out Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo as well as Caddo Lake in Karnack.

Reunion Tower Parking

You might be wondering, “where can I park for the Reunion Tower?”. There are a few parking lots as well as parking garages surrounding the Reunion Tower. However, they are generally pretty pricey, costing anywhere from $10 to $25 (on average) depending on the number of hours parked. One of the most popular parking areas is the parking lot at 601 Sports Street due to its close proximity and low rate of $10 for zero to four hours. Valet parking is also available at this lot, but only for Hyatt Regency guests.

On the other hand, you can search for street parking in the area if the parking lots / garages are full or if you want to find cheaper parking. The rate for street parking is generally around $1 to $2 per hour. However, the maximum time allowed for street parking ranges from two to four hours. Ready for a bit of good news? Some street parking in downtown Dallas is free after 6pm on Monday through Saturday and is also free on Sundays. Do not just take my word for it though, as parking regulations can change. Be sure to read all posted signs where you plan to park so that you do not get a ticket.

Nearby Lodging

Finding nearby lodging to the Reunion Tower is not going to be an issue. Downtown Dallas has a variety of accommodations available. For a more luxurious experience, I recommend booking a room at the Hotel Crescent Court. The hotel has a heated outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, private parking, and so much more.

However, if you are looking to stay outside the city (most likely to save a bit of money), then check out options in the nearby towns of Arlington or Plano. You can easily drive into the city or take public transportation from either location.

Nearby Airports

The closest international airport to the Reunion Tower is the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. It is located approximately 20 minutes northwest. On the other hand, the closest regional airport is the Dallas Love Field Airport, which is 15 minutes north.

If you need a rental car, check out the options available on Expedia. My partner and I book rental cars on Expedia all the time for weekend getaways, and we are often paying less than $200.

2) Opening Hours and Tickets

The Reunion Tower has general open hours of 12pm to 7:30pm daily. However, the hours for Saturday are slightly extended from 11am to 8:30pm. Be sure to visit their website to make sure you have the correct hours for the day you plan to visit, especially if it is a holiday.

Reunion Tower GeO Deck Tickets

Whether you are looking to visit the Reunion Tower once, two times in one day, or multiple times over multiple days, there is a ticket option available for you. As a side note, I recommend you visit the Reunion Tower website for ticket prices. Since ticket prices can change at any time, it is best to look on their site for the most current information. Moreover, ticket prices can vary based on age as well as the day/time you plan to visit.

First, the general admission ticket offers admission to the Reunion Tower’s GeO Deck. It is valid for a one-time use, which lasts for 30 days after purchase. This is the basic ticket that most people purchase. For example, this is the ticket I purchased for my visit!

Second, the day and night ticket offers exactly what you might think: access to the tower during the day as well as at night. You can thus view Dallas in all its glory in the light of day as well as at night when the city begins to light up.

Third, the Dallas CityPass offers admission to the GeO Deck of the Reunion Tower, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, and two out of the three following attractions based on your preference: Dallas Zoo, George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, and the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. Additionally, there are a few other passes available similar to the CityPass, for example the Pogo Pass and the Get Out Pass

Fourth, group tickets offer admission to the Reunion Tower GeO Deck for groups of 15 or more at a discounted rate.

Reunion Tower: How to See for Free

While it generally costs money for admission, there are a few ways to see the Reunion Tower for free.

First, children ages three and under can visit the Reunion Tower for free. I know, that is probably not the advice you were looking for, but you can bring along small children at no extra cost!

Second, you can view the outside of the Reunion Tower for free from various points in the city. The tower is quite tall, so it “towers” above many of the other buildings in the city. While you do not get the view from the observation deck, you can at least still see the tower itself. One of the best places to view the Reunion Tower is from the nearby lawn. The small grassy lawn area is wedged in between Sports Street, Hyatt Regency Hotel Drive, and North Dive.

Third, you can dine at the Crown Block restaurant within the Reunion Tower and enjoy views of the city without having to pay for them. Alas, you still have to pay for an expensive meal at the restaurant. But the views come at no extra charge! The Crown Block restaurant is on the 18th floor of the Reunion Tower and features almost floor-to-ceiling windows.

3) Best Time to Visit the Reunion Tower GeO Deck

Arguably, the best time of day to visit the GeO Deck at the Reunion Tower is during sunset. Not only can you be rewarded with views up to 30 miles (~48 kilometers) away, but you can also enjoy a colored sky. However, please keep in mind that sunset is often the busiest time at the observation deck. You thus might have to wait a couple of minutes to find a good spot to take pictures. Moreover, tickets are generally more expensive during the sunset hours. Even though there are a few obstacles, visiting during sunset is still highly recommended.

Estimated Visit Time

I would recommend that you plan between 30 minutes and one hour in your itinerary to visit the Reunion Tower GeO Deck. That gives you enough time to get up to the observation deck, snap a few pictures, and then head out. However, I recommend you plan for more time if you want to check out any of the tower’s other attractions, such as the restaurant or a hosted event.

Are you looking to plan weekend getaways to visit other cities? I have done plenty of those (while trying to cross all 50 states off my list). The package includes two general admission tickets, a digital picture plus a silver frame, VIP elevator service, and two complimentary sparkling glasses of wine in logo flute glasses. 7) Was It Worth It To Visit the Reunion Tower GeO Deck?

Long story short, my answer is yes. It was worth my time and money to visit the GeO Deck at the Reunion Tower in Dallas, Texas. I am a sucker for a good view, and that is exactly what I got. The Reunion Tower GeO Deck offers a panoramic view of the city, which some might argue is the best view of the city you can find.

I do want to state that I generally enjoy natural attractions, such as landscapes and waterfalls, more than city attractions. That being said, I am more prone to spend money on things related to natural attractions rather than city-based attractions. However, I was willing to spend a bit of money to experience the beautiful view the Reunion Tower has to offer, and I do not regret my choice. Additionally, when at the observation deck of the tower, you almost feel as though you are outside of the city, appreciating it from afar.
